In the past, I believe indigo operated the A321NEO with 222 seats in some form between Istanbul and India.

IST to BOM is 2,600nm

IST to Delhi is 2,500nm

IndiGo operate DEL/BOM-IST with a wetleased B777-300ER. When the wetlease was to be prematurely curtailed, they initially filed the schedule with an A321, but was quickly replaced with the A320, likely indicating that once some basic flight planning was considered, the payload restrictions on the A321 would've resulted in a similar potential passenger load as the A320 (likely lower actually).

But you may be referring to the pre-wetlease period in 2019. It was mostly A320 with a few A321, however you're missing how most flights operated via a tech-stop in Doha for fuel on westbound leg.

I flew this particular route multiple times before the wetlease B77W ever operated it.

It was always on the A321NEO with 222 seats when I flew it. It was never full, whether those seats were blocked by the airline or unable to be sold, I can't recall. The flights I took was probably at least 75-80% full without any Doha tech stop
